Sol B. Castro

Atty. Solomon R. B. Castro sits as Of-Counsel at LCMC Law. He is an internationally trained lawyer with over 25 years’ professional experience in PPPs, infrastructure and corporate finance, and development consulting. He is the Co-founder, Co-owner and Managing Director of CFP Strategic Transaction Advisors, Inc.. He has advised many global companies and government sponsors on major infrastructure transactions in power, water, transportation, information technology, solid waste management and property development. His expertise spans all key stages of a project’s development, from feasibility assessments and risk profiling, to deal structuring, contract negotiations, and tender design and strategy.

Sol has an established track record in leading technical assistance and transaction advisories of the IFC, World Bank/IBRD, ADB and bilateral donor agencies in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries. He has also consulted for various Philippine government agencies and state-owned enterprises including the DOF, BOT Center (now the PPP Center), DOTr, NEDA, MWSS, and LWUA. He has led and participated in many transaction advisory teams that have advised on high value PPP projects in the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos and Mongolia.

Earlier in his career, Sol was Vice President-Legal Counsel of the Lippo Group’s investment bank in Manila. As group counsel, he provided legal direction and advisory support to Lippo’s listed holding company, securities dealer broker, and As an Associate at Baker & McKenzie in Toronto and Manila, Sol worked on M&A transactions and assisted IPP clients in reaching financial closing for power generation projects during the first wave of PPP/BOT projects in the Philippines.

He now advises on LCMC’s M&A engagements and special projects.

Atty. Castro holds a Master of Laws degree from Cornell University, New York. He earned his law degree with academic excellence, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration cum laude from the University of the Philippines. He is a member of the Philippine Bar Association. He was admitted to the bar in 1994.
